TAI selects Mecaer as the Landing Gear System supplier for Hürkuş Trainer Program!

The Mecaer Group is pleased to announce that its parent company Mecaer Meccanica Aeronautica S.p.A. has been officially selected by Turkish Aerospace Industries, Inc. (TAI) to provide the complete Landing Gear System for the Turkish Primary and Basic Trainer Aircraft “Hürkuş”.
Mecaer’s scope of work includes design, qualification testing, certification, manufacturing and after-sale support. Mecaer’s objective is to deliver a state-of-the-art Landing Gear System with particular attention to environmental, technological and operational efficiencies.
The Turkish Primary and Basic Training Aircraft Development Program became effective with the agreement signed between the Under Secretariat for Defense Industries and TAI in March 2006. The Hürkuş will be designed and certified in accordance with EASA CS 23 standard, it is going to have night and day mission capability, tandem seating and a single turboprop engine.
